FF owns a 45,000-square-meter property near Northern Iraq's mountains and the Great Zab River, which is mostly surrounded by agricultural land. The client envisioned transforming this land into a campground where people could escape the city's chaos and spend a few days relaxing. The masterplan is divided into zones, each of which is linked by a walkway. The camping zone offers a variety of accommodation options and styles, including lodges, glamping tents, cabins, and bring-your-own tent sites. The activities zone consists of a welcome center, a conference center, a small nature museum, a dining hall, play areas, a sports area, and restaurants.
The client also desired a lake that would run through the camp, providing a pleasant breeze and a view of the residential zone. There will also be an agricultural zone for planting produce, allowing the property to be self-sufficient.
IDD also did the infrastructure design for the master plan and gave the client structural recommendations based on the context and local building methods.
