JLOW Church is located on a beautiful campus close to the Nile River in the Old Cairo district near downtown Cairo. The church is part of the larger Episcopal / Anglican Diocese of Egypt and has been situated in Old Cairo for nearly 100 years.
The church is involved in several ministries which serve to accomplish the diocesan vision by serving both the church congregation as well as the local community. As the church and its ministries grew, the leadership felt a need to utilize the property more efficiently. The various buildings in the campus were not added under a single vision and there is not a good sense of continuity from one building to the next. The deaf ministry is rapidly grew as well and this ministry utilized buildings which were both insufficient in size and also did not meet many safety requirements.
The central focus of Jesus Light of the World Church master plan is to efficiently accommodate the expanding ministry of the church within the limitations of the site’s boundaries. Additional programs are designed to be implemented in a supplemental way to maintain the integrity of both the existing church and the hall.
